About me
Anthony Coy-Gonzalez is a teacher at the Ohio School for the Deaf and the 2021 Ohio Teacher of the Year. He is passionate about hands-on learning and making an impression on students with humor, emotion, a little magic, and opportunities to live through learning. He works to connect students with community role-models and encourages students to be civically-minded young citizens, with an outward lens to instruction. Anthony earned his BA and MA degrees in Deaf Education from Flagler College and is currently a doctoral student at Walden University. His area of interest and research aims at expanding and diversifying the Deaf teacher pipeline (licensure, partnerships, grow-your-own programs, and scholarships).
